TTM: Matthew Barnaby

Sent:10/18/12
Returned: 11/2/12

Drafted by Buffalo Sabres 4th round #83 overall 1992 NHL Entry Draft

Barnaby was known back in the day as a rough tough fighter always looking to pick scraps and a bit of a traveler playing for 7 teams. I most got to know him when he came to Chicago in 2005. After his long hockey career he became a broadcaster for the Buffalo Sabres and 2007 and then joined Barry Melrose in 2008 cover hockey analysis for ESPN but that would be the light side of his career. The dark side of his life was in May 2011 when he was arrested for Domestic Violence "Barnaby was accused of causing an estimated $300 in damage after kicking a garage door in an attempt to enter the suburban Buffalo home where his estranged wife and two children live"(Wikipedia). A few months later he was caught driving while intoxicated which hurt his career by being terminated by ESPN. He plead guilty and was forced to pay $1,500 in fines and serve 100 hours of community service.
